Let us loop you in – iPhone the missing link for virtual reality?

iphone

What is "Loop"?

Loop is just a reference to the Apple’s campus.  It's an address.

What is meant by  Apple's new phrase "Let us loop you in"?  This question is  yet to be  fully disclosed.  Apple's  "Let us loop you in" event  is offered live via AppleInsider. It will be  streamed live on Apple's  website and  on Apple TV.

What is expected is that Apple will have a smaller  and less expensive iPad Pro, and new Apple watch accessories (plus build your own), along with the smaller 4 inch iPhone SE.

Information on the controversial 4 inch iPhone  SE was leaked earlier this month.  It is speculated that if Apple keeps the iPhone S around for a while, it could mean buyers could pick up the phone at a cheap price with no contract (according to  Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster). I know a kid or two who would be willing to save their after school money in hopes of nabbing an iPhone S for a quick $300; adults too.

What's the Difference?

The iPhone SE is rumored to lack the 3D Touch sensors, which might be how Apple plans to keep the prices lower and  to distinguish it from its highest-quality iPhone 6S.

Reality check

Weather or not Apple will announces a new Macbook at the March 21st event is unknown.  What is known, is that coming in June at  Apple;s annual Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, they will most likely unveil both iOS 10 and OS X 10.12.    If Apple has new Mac hardware, this would be a popular venue for them to announce it.   It is anticipated that Apple will launch its iPhone 7 sometime in September.

Incremental technological change is how essentially everything come about.   Incremental technology occurs in music (iTunes),  wearables, wireless, and all type of other gadgets and gizmo's, including the new iPhone SE.

Things to think about with shifting incremental technology :

  • Will the iOS corrupt Itunes?  The TouchID,  could pose some problems in accessing the iTunes Store.
  • OSX and iOs updates
  • Bug breaks. Every time something is created, almost like clock work something else will break
  • Macbook - screens too?
  • #nastysurprises  I like to put encryption in this category
  • Wearables
  • Wireless
  • ect...

Goodies - The missing Link

With Apple, Google and Sony all making significant investments in Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), it isn't by coincidence that the iPhone is  being looked at as another "missing link".   Apple has been experimenting in this new technology that could put 3D TV out of business someday.

Facebook (FB)  already owns Oculus VR, and states they are going to be investing into the technology  for the long run.

Incremental steps

I guess we will all have to wait and see what Apple unveils  at their March 21st event.  Apple, being Apple, they do tend to hold back on showing the full load of goodies they have development, until it's time to present.  It should be an interesting event; and I rather look forward to seeing what comes out of it.
