The Power of Words
The words we choose to get our point across can be mighty in their delivery or conveyed in the simplest of form. Whether mighty or simple it’s the actions behind those words that make them effective or ineffective.Words are meant to convey something or prompt action. Those words could be power selling, resume words, inspirational words, words that hurt, mind blowing words, healing, moral, ethical, or inspiring words, etc. When we combine lists of power words with the use of social media in the work place, who benefits the most from their usage? This is a question that a lot of organizations struggle with today. Who is going to monitor…
Social Media – What’s your Hook
Social Media - What's your Hook? What makes your company stand out in the world of social media? Are you stumped for an answer? I guess we could ask our presidential candidates on both sides, the same question. They would of course say they are "ALL" winning the debates being presented on the digital front. The one attribute they all seem to possess is an aggressive one. They attack everything with a "WIN" mentality. When planning out your own social media campaign you need to have the same "WIN" mentality. If you are too focused on upsetting your followers, due to a cultural fit, or afraid of appearing to be too much…

For Sale Yahoo Hoo Hoo
Who ever buys up Yahoo needs to have some solid symmetry in its core operations The little guy (gal) For Sale Yahoo-Hoo-Hoo. I have this great Word Press Avalda Theme that I'm dying to get working again. It was working - and then poof! Unfortunately for me, Yahoo Small Business, that is now going by the name of Aabaco Small Business, has PHP and SQL antiquated services. Up until just recently, that was my biggest beef with Yahoo. Aabaco has inherited the problems with this disproportionate service, that includes web hosting, selling online, marketing, domains, mail, etc. My measly $39 dollars a quarter is all wrapped up in the "maybe we'll sell -maybe…
Twitter – Eleventh Graders Respond
It is Best Tweets First, according to two groups of 11th graders I recently spoke with. These high school students simply do not want to read through a "bunch of boring stuff". Even more so, they simply do not want to waste their time. Time is a commodity that most students fear will be taken from them already. Looking at the reverse-chronological tweet stream actually was the only thing they liked. Keep it live, but add the Best Tweets First. I explained to these astute groups of students that Twitter had received the kiss of death ( #RIPTwitter ) hashtag this week from some unhappy followers. Followers were upset for Twitter suggesting this bold move to make…
