Humanitarian Acts & Community Volunteers
I heard someone say that you can’t teach others humanitarian behaviors, I disagree. Humanitarian Acts & Community Volunteers – If you keep hitting at the heart, at some point that heart is going to react. At what point it begins to react, that is the question. It is similar to teaching children to share in the sandbox. Eventually, they learn to play together. Same with volunteering – the more you do it, the more you enjoy it. Here is a tricky question to consider. What if I told you to guide or get out of the way? Would it have sounded better, if I had said lead or get out of the way? Truthfully,…
Humanitarian Giving – If it isn’t fun, you’re doing it wrong.
Humanitarian Giving – If it isn’t fun, you’re doing it wrong. There is a number of articles out there about giving to charities, Humanitarian Giving. The best kind of articles, are the ones that show you what giving has done to help someone else. It’s seeing the smiles and heartfelt thank you’s coming from the recipients. Be it someone old, young, homebound, sick, or impoverished – it feels good to give. It can actually be fun to give. Meeting the needs of providing a normal family life is difficult for some. Dear Volunteer
Dear Volunteer Lace up! Coming up in October is the Other Half Marathon here in Moab Utah. Not as large as the ½ Marathon held in the spring, but still a busy fun adventure for the like-minded. I’ll never turn it off again I hadn’t heard any cars pull up in front of the house. I was very alarmed. I got up from the couch, a little shaken that someone had just tried to enter my home. Thoughts go through your mind. Do you have your…
Risk Takers act differently – the courage of being free
Risk Takers act differently – the courage of being free How long has it been since you have felt the Adrenalin pumping through your veins as you landed your first big deal, sold that property, or made the biggest financial score of your lifetime? What risks do you remember taking? Would you take them again? Would you advise others to take the same risks? Risk Takers I happened upon a group of young adults this past weekend who were enjoying themselves by swinging off the walking bridge that spans the width of the Colorado River, just outside of Moab, Utah. With nothing more than a rope and true grit, each…
